Day 1 - Journey from Home to St Bees

Dropped Gary’s car off at Miles and Sarah’s house in North Yorks, and they then gave us a lift over to the start at St Bees. We had a depressing trip over as the cloud and rain was down on the hills, just where we are going to be walking!

Arrived at the hotel in St Bees and met up with Jacqui, Gail, Sean and James. Stayed at the Queens Head Hotel, rooms were fine, food good and very good pint of Cumberland ale!

We all walked down to the beach to get our stones and walk into the sea. This is a tradition that all C2C walkers are supposed to do! Neil paddled in and filled a bottle with Irish Sea water to carry over to the North Sea! It has started raining!

Had a beer in the Coast to Coast bar.
